Fourth is Thunder

Prymjasker: Thunder Rock

In the shadow of the Twin Tors lies the rocky peak atop of which stands an ancient shrine. A perpetual storm looms overhead, forks of lightning cascading across the black clouds and darting to the blasted wasteland below.

The shrine has been blasted by lightning, and a pit leads down to caverns below. Inside those are several allied monsters, who have gathered together for mutual protection.
There is a 1-in-6 chance per turn that a bolt of lightning will strike anyone standing outside, dealing 6d6 damage (save for half).

Key:

  1. The shrine is white-marble hut decorated with symbols of storms. Inside is a pedestal with lightning-runes covering it. If the globe is placed atop it, the corresponding barrier is removed. A pit has been blasted open, leading to the cavern below.
  2. The pit leads 20' down, with plenty of hand-holds for climbing. The ground here is covered in gravel and crushed bones, making it all but impossible to move around quietly.
  3. This cavern has a nest of feathers, rocks, bones and mud, and is the lair of an enormous owlbear [AC as chain, HD 5, #Ats 3 claw, claw, beak (1d6/1d6/1d8); if both claws hit, crush & rend for an extra 2d6 damage]. Amongst its nest are 346 gold pieces, 798 silver, and 256 coppers, a dozen small gemstones (25 gp each), and a magic dagger: Clinger [+1 dagger, on a natural 20 digs into victim, dealing 1d4 damage each round until removed, save required).
  4. This lair has a 'bed' of bones, rotting meat, mud and offal. It is the lair of a grumpy old troll [AC as chain, HD 6, #Ats 3 claw, claw, bite (2d4/2d4/2d6); regenerate 3 hps/round unless by fire or acid]. It has no treasure, as the owlbear stole it all.
  5. This cave is the lair of a nearly extinct tribe of thunder kobolds [AC as leather, HD 1, #Ats 1 crude spear or bite (1d6 or 1d4); can create boom of thunder 1/turn, save or be knocked prone and deafened for 1d6 turns (25% spell failure), immune to lightning or sound-based attacks]. The crystal globe (filled with crackling lightning) can be found here, and is worshipped as a god; they will protect it with their lives.
  6. This cave is strewn with bones and is the lair of a powerful magic-using ghoul [AC as chain, HD 3, #Ats 3 claw, claw, bite (1d4/1d4/1d4); touch paralyses (save allowed, elves immune), cast spells as a 3rd-level magic-user] that just loves the storms above. In his cave is some treasure scavenged from past victims: 23 cp, 47 sp, 98 gp, a fist-sized ruby (750 gp), and a potion of healing that is labelled "Nanny Grot's Remedy".
